Community play

Community play - Are We There Yet?, a story about Moses and the exodus, by Tom Long and Allan Pote will be performed on April 28 and 29 at St. John’s United Church in Belwood. Deb Stanson, well known to the area as a director for Elora Community Theatre, has volunteered to direct this production, ably assisted by Laura Hunter. Kara Shaw is performing the music and directing St. John’s choir for the show. The enthusiastic cast is drawn from children (with a few adults) from Belwood, Elora, Fergus and Kitchener. The show will have a warm-up musical treat by local performers Alex Burnett, Wanda Turner and Al Sansford. A free-will offering in support of the church will be taken. The show is also going on the road for a performance at The Westhill Retirement Residence, Waterloo, May 6 at 2pm. Back row: from left, Casey Hermanus as Pharaoh and David Shaw as Moses. Front: Mikhail Maksymu as Pharaoh’s guard and Jaiden Woelfle as Miriam.  Submitted photo
